Identify your most productive time of day

Stay motivated different times of the day, productivity infographic. Knowing when you do most of your work each day is a great way to increase your Labor Motivation. This is because knowledge works to your advantage in two ways. First and foremost, by knowing when you are most likely to progress on whatever task you are working on, you can schedule your most difficult or important work for that time slot. That way, you can get what you need to do and use the resulting motivation to power through the rest of the day.

Prioritize your tasks accordingly

Going hand in hand with knowing your most productive time of day is the ability to prioritize your tasks effectively. Without doing this, you are essentially leaving your success to chance, as you could end up wasting all your energy on small, unimportant tasks and wasting away before you hit the main event. The best way I have found to do this is to use Tracy's method to evaluate if individual tasks are something you need to do and if it is something you want to do.

Eating breakfast encourages work motivation

Yes, it sounds cheesy, but if you want to stay motivated all day, you have to start the right way. Eating breakfast will give you the fuel you need to stay focused on your work and not your stomach.

The trick here is to eat enough that you don't graze until lunchtime, but not so much that your body starts shutting down to digest a big meal. While this may be difficult to measure at first, the best way to find your ideal breakfast is to experiment with the amount yourself.

Have a constant supply of water

While this may also seem silly to point out, having a constant supply of water to drink while you work is vital to maintaining a clear mind and staying motivated.

You do not have to drink liters of these things every day although most sources recommend drinking 2 liters to stay hydrated, but at least having a bottle or cup of water next to your desk, you can easily communicate when you need to.

Don't consume too much caffeine

I'll be the first to admit that coffee is heaven's mercy for the Labor Motivation. The smell, the taste, the sound of the kettle, all about it makes me smile like most other caffeine junkies. However, if your end goal is stay motivated, then you should keep a close eye on the amount of caffeine you consume. We've all made the mistake of drinking too much coffee, the shaking and shaking that follows is far from a good way to ensure your productivity. You are more likely to struggle to focus and do even less than if you were stuck in the water.
