The person perceives certain physical defects as unbearable and horrible in his life, focusing all his attention on them and the possible reaction that these defects cause around him.

This discomfort creates large feelings of inferiority with respect to others and in some cases can cause certain isolation or a total withdrawal from the social and work life of the subject, since he cannot bear that others contemplate his supposed physical defects.

The worry can be limited to one or more complexes at a time, and it can fluctuate its course throughout life, although its presence can be chronic.
