Therefore, one of the ways to have a spiritual life is to identify and enter into flow, to combine purpose and present. How can we know our flow? There are several ways to do it. One is to remember what you did as a child, since young children choose freely without any type of filter what they are happy with, what they flow with.

I always remember the movie Billy Elliot, the boy who chooses to dance instead of boxing, the choice forced on him by his father. In one of the scenes of the film, specifically on the day of the entrance exam for the National Ballet Company of London, Billy dances badly since he technically has no level, but before leaving the court asks him, what do you feel when do you dance? And upon hearing his answer they choose him. Because? Because the court understands that he enters the flow and when someone enters the flow he is unstoppable.

Remember that you can make anything your life something significant. What will bring you spiritual well-being? For example, it can be wonderful to dedicate yourself to the education of our children and spirituality can be found walking through nature or sharing a good beer with friends; we do not have to have an apparently very lofty and ambitious purpose, we are the ones who make it extraordinary. Regarding purposeful work, well-being, and productivity, psychologist Amy Wrzesniewski conducted a very interesting study with hospital workers. The researchers classified the workers into three groups and asked them to define their job. The groups were: doctors, nurses and cleaning staff and other services. Participants had to define as a job (something solely transactional with a salary), a career (a life project, part of personal development) or a vocation (a call, something transcendental, spiritual). The results showed that the same work can be perceived and lived in a different way. Two conclusions were drawn.

The first, very obvious, is that despite the fact that the highest professional categories perceived their jobs as as more important, it was also the case that low-level workers perceived their jobs as very significant. It also happened with the most qualified jobs perceived as just transactional.

The second, and more relevant, conclusion is that no one told them to rate it one way or another, that is, that, at least in part, it depends on us to perceive our work in one way or another and this decision will affect our professional well-being. What are the consequences of perceiving it in a more meaningful way? The more significant it is, the more well-being work brings to people and, also, the more productive the worker is.
